Or maybe some of these issues have already been figured out by other users? I can look through the source code and get an idea of what is going on behind the scenes, but unfortunately that's about as far as my development skills in. Obviously these requests are pretty specific for those of us without the BaseStation, but if some of these features can be added it would make VRS appealing to a lot more potential users. I can't test this until VRS is able to query for the aircraft type. Instead of the operator logo, in PlanePlotter it is possible to display the country flag, per:Ĭould a similar feature be added to VRS, again for those of us without a BaseStation?įor silhouettes, I found a file of images that can be downloaded from: Would it be possible to add an option to not query for the OperatorFlagCode? Or perhaps if the "Flags folder" option is left blank, it would not look for this column? The issue I'm having is that this file doesn't have the column OperatorFlagCode in the table Aircraft, so VRS is throwing an exception and is not pulling the reg or type either.

However, it is possible to download this file from:

Since I'm not using a BaseStation, I don't have access to its basestation.sqb file.
#PLANEPLOTTER REGISTER SOFTWARE#
Thanks for providing this great software for free! The basic functionality works great and I can see planes on the map. Options are available within PlanePlotter and Virtual Radar Server to filter their displays to show just these required aircraft.Ī further routine runs alongside PlanePlotter to enable you to rapidly select a ‘required’ aircraft from a drop-down list aircraft displaying on PlanePlotter to automatically add it as ‘seen’ in your database along with your location and the date.I am using VRS with a Mode-S Beast & PlanePlotter. One routine identifies which aircraft you ‘require’. One of our members has developed some excellent software routines which use our database to interface with any virtual radar services, such as the popular, technology-leading PlanePlotter flight tracking software, Kinetics Basestation software and Virtual Radar Server, all of which utilise a basestation.sqb database. Listings can be sorted by Registration, Type, C/N and Operator.

‘Registers’ enables you to print out civil and military registers by country, listing either the current registrations or listing all current and previous uses of each registration. Production lists can be sorted by Registration, Type, C/N and Operator. The example selects active RAF T-6C Texan IIs. The ‘Multi-Criteria’ option allows you to pick out particular aircraft.

Those highlighted in green have been seen with the current registration shown, those in yellow seen with a previous registration. Your own personal logging history is also shown below the aircraft data.Īn excellent feature of the database is the highlighting of aircraft that you have seen. After typing in the registration, a list of aircraft that have used that registration is shown on the left of the screen, and the data on that aircraft is shown on the right. ‘Standard’ is the commonest way to see the data of a particular aircraft. Your data is always kept separate to the main database so that you will always have it. Backup is instant and a reminder is always shown of ‘Days since… Backup’ to prompt you to backup. Each backup is new and never overwrites an older one. ‘Backup Loggings’ stores a backup of all your loggings.

Clicking any month opens the Logbook to show the aircraft seen then. ‘Log Book Stats’ shows a plot of your total loggings by month and year. ‘Dynamic Logbook’ lets you specify a date, date interval or location to get a listing of everything seen. Then you type in the Place and Date and these are then set against each aircraft. You type each registration in the bottom left corner and the table fills in the aircraft data and shows which, and how many in total, are new (to you), paintscrapes, dropped or outstanding (new aircraft yet to be added to the database).
